“PlayStation 5”
Since the Corona pandemic began in early 2020, all industries have found it difficult to keep production operations operating at the necessary level. “Sony” was the most significant of these businesses when it launched the fifth version of the Playstation late. Five months after its debut, there are still problems trying to match demand from last year.
Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Corporation, noted in an interview with the “Washington Post” that the demand was significantly higher than anticipated and added:
This is causing a modest drop in supply relative to what we had anticipated, along with the intricacy of the supply chain problems.
He asserts that things will get better each month this year in a separate interview with the “Financial Times.” “By the time we reach the second half of 2021, we’ll see some pretty good results,” says the author of the study. “The rate of improvement in the supply chain will ramp up throughout the year.”
Despite the improved circumstances, tech website “The Verge” adds that the CEO is not guaranteeing the availability of enough devices by the holiday season in 2021, but the company’s numbers are encouraging, as one in four users who received a “Playstation 5” device did not own the device’s fourth generation.
