U.S. police said their units have arrested the perpetrator of the shooting that killed 3 people in Austin, Texas, indicating he may be a former member of the security services.
Acting Austin Police Chief Joseph Chacon said his members were looking for a dark-skinned man named Stephen Nicholas Broderick, 41, confirming that the attack killed 3 people, two Latina women, and a brown man.
Chacon said that the police believe that the suspect knows his victims and that he may be a former member of the security services, but this case is currently uncertain, indicating that the attack is likely to be a lone attack and targeting a certain group, but the danger remains.
In turn, “CBC Austin” reported that Broderick previously worked as an investigator for the Travis County Sheriff’s Office and in 2020 was charged with a crime of a sexual nature against a child.
