The newspaper said that Monoeira was the one who managed the match between Barcelona and Cadiz last February in the championship, and the referee awarded a penalty against the Barcelona defender Clemon Longley, in the final minutes of the match, to end in a 1-1 draw.
The same referee passed the quarterfinal match of the King’s Cup between Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao last season, and at that time, the players of the Catalan team demanded a clear penalty in favor of the Dutchman Frenkie de Jong, but Monoeira ordered to continue playing, to lose. the “Blaugrana” with a single goal.
It is worth noting that the final match of the King’s Cup 2021, between Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao, will take place next Saturday at the stadium “La Cartuja” in Seville, and it is the second final that brings them together this season, after the final of the Spanish Super Cup, which ended with the victory of Bilbao.
