The Agence France-Presse news agency reported that a policewoman was killed in an attack by an unknown man armed with a knife on Friday at the entrance to a police station in the town of Rambouillet, near Paris.
The radio station “Europe 1” reported that police shot the attacker and that security personnel at the scene managed to control him, without giving further details.
French Interior Minister Darmanin confirmed via “Twitter” that a police officer “was the victim of a knife attack” in Ramboulet, adding that he was heading to the scene of the accident.

BFM television said the attacker was a Tunisian national.
There was no immediate information on the motivation of the attacker.
